1990's

Sterling Classics, Inc. was founded by Stan & Shirley Jordan in Jacksonville, Florida in 1992, and incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida on April 24, 1996. The company was one of the first Rhino Linings dealers in Florida and was located at 6628 Evergreen Avenue, just North of downtown Jacksonville.

For 10 years, Sterling Classics, Inc. was one of the top Rhino Linings dealers in America, earning Top 5 honors for 5 consecutive years in the 1990's. Company Vice President, Stan Jordan, already well-known as a local elected official, became known throughout North Florida as "The Rhino Man" for his aggressive marketing efforts on behalf of the company.

2000

Mr. Jordan was elected to the Florida House of Representatives representing House District 17. Jordan is currently serving his fourth consecutive 2-year term in the Florida House, and Chairs the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee.

2001

Sterling Classics moved into the current facility at 3414 North Main Street. An extensive renovation of the Main Street facility was undertaken, including the addition of 2 new structures on the site and a completely rebuilt 3,000 square foot showroom.

2006

Jordan's daughter, Joni, and her husband, Mike Hancock, teamed up to form a new business, Southern Polymer Coatings Inc. (SPCI), and purchased the assets of Sterling Classics, Inc. Joni Hancock is the sole owner of the company and serves as President & Chairman of the Board. Mike Hancock is the company General Manager and a Director of the Board. (Mr. Hancock had previously served a 3-year stint as Business & Marketing Manager for Sterling Classics Inc.) Mr. Hancock's mother, Anne, has served as Office Manager for the business since 1997. In addition to continuing in this role at SPCI, Anne Hancock also serves as Secretary and Treasurer of the SPCI Board of Directors.
